Today I saw a talk by the designer James Auger on the `complex relationships between humans (and other animals), culture and technology.'
It left me with visions of pigeons flocking at night while lighting up the sky and the strong desire to buy a copy of the full book of Augmented Animals.

Live fox on footpath over bypass. Wicked glint in piercing eyes. The city has lied to me. It has no true face.

....and drop out of my additional Anthropology masters course and postpone my AS-Level maths desires... Before I break these eggs I am balancing. It's time to start this term again. Properly and Sensibly. Remember kids, heavy workloads are much better than impossible ones. Even my laptop is telling me so. I quote: "G. time the and lifelong the windowpane the time there will be time territory to me to me time to can create and time and do and will and not be. In time to me and 200 and that and 400 and in the version will taking'" And again: "Time you an outline three windowpane the time there will be time territory to me of me time to can create and time and do and will and not be humankind me and hundred and that and 400 and in the version 4 taking'" Which was its way of telling me: And indeed there will be time For the yellow smoke that slides along the street, Rubbing its back upon the window-panes; There will be time, there will be time To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; There will be time to murder and create, And time for all the works and days of hands That lift and drop a question on your plate; Time for you and time for me, And time yet for a hundred indecisions, And for a hundred visions and revisions, Before the taking of a toast and tea. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock -- T S Eliot (It is also telling me to not ever consider using dragon to transcribe my recordings as you can see).

I gave blood yesterday for the first time without the discomfort and pain normally caused by my hidden veins and today, from my new desk at the university, I saw a beautiful green woodpecker (with a red topping) pecking at the ground outside my window.
It would be nice if the two were related, but they are not connected in any way.

So wrap this coat around yourself
And leave what's done behind
There's so much left for us to do
And yet there's so little time
I'm going to pull the fences to the ground
Watch the twisted towers come crumbling down
And start again

First I took him to the vet for the second time in two months, when normally he only has to go once a year.
Then he had an injection and his temperature taken. And a patch of his fur taken out to be on the safe side and cream rubbed in to the nearby wound.
Then he was taken home.
(And this is when he started to hate me)
He was locked in the house. And introduced to Mr Litter Tray for the first time in three years. And, if that wasn't enough, not only given two tablets (jammed down his throat) but also made to wear a plastic collar of doom.
A week, I told him, Only a week.
But he doesn't seem to hear. He just meowls at the cat-flap and fights with the plastic round his head.

Poor Malachi. He hates me.

I need to order copies of these. Note the use of the word need. Perhaps not need but want. I want to order copies of these. Strongly.

The three little kittens they washed their mittens
And hung them out to dry,
"Oh mother dear, do you not hear
That we have washed our mittens."
"What! washed your mittens, you are good kittens."
But I smell a rat close by,
"Meeow, meeow, meeow" we smell a rat close by...
